My scholars chest has its roots in Korean furniture, but seeks to shed the ancient patriarchal culture that created it. Traditionally this piece of furniture was for men only but by using colors and woods traditionally associated with femininity in Korea I flip the script. This is a chest for the modern era. This is a chest that embodies the best of historical symmetry with the reality of intellectualism, and my hopes for equality in academia.
