Bunretsu Table

My interpretation of a traditional table with intentional division that highlights the beauty and life of kanna finished wood.

The inspiration

Table runners were the basis of this design. I feel that they break up the large surface of tables and highlight the beauty of wood grain that can be so easily lost. The goal was to elevate the humble table runner by inserting a cleaner form between the kanna finished wood. This brings focus to the clean lines of the base and the movement of the wood grain. Glass is only the first option, ceramic and woven panels are also available.
